PaperCon, organized by TAPPI, is the largest annual pulp and paper technical program in the world. This year PaperCon is coming to the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The theme “100 Years: A Century of Achievement” sets the stage for the program topics and speakers. The 100 year TAPPI celebration will be prevalent throughout PaperCon, including the Centennial Celebration Gala and special keynote speaker AfterBurner, featuring a “top gun” fighter pilot.
PaperCon has programs and events for anyone interested in the paper industry. The lineup will include a New Technology Showcase, Young Professionals and Students, Papermaking sessions, as well as Coating and Graphic Arts sessions. Co-located programs include a Tissue360 forum, RPTA production-technical seminar, NETInc Innovative Nonwovens Conference, and OpEx Reliability Workshop. There will be the annual golf tournament to support the PIMA scholarship fund and the 5K Runnability Walk/Run to raise scholarship funds for students in the pulp and paper science and technology programs. Kadant is proud to be a major sponsor of these events and also the creation of a Kadant scholarship fund to support future papermakers in their scholarship.
The PaperCon exhibition will include over 170 vendors and OEMs that provide products and services to the pulp and paper industry. Kadant will participate as an exhibitor and will showcase products and services that positively impact a papermaker’s operation from stock preparation to doctoring, cleaning, and filtration to rotary joints, dryer systems, and steam management systems. Kadant personnel will also be presenting technical papers focused on recycling, developments in drying, and paper machine audits.
