Last week tissue makers and converters from around the globe visited Tissue World in New Orleans, Louisiana. The exhibition and conference, themed Beyond Sustainability – Leading a Culture of Innovation & Responsible Production, offered a variety of opportunities for learning. Speakers covered ways to improve Yankee efficiency and runnability, and technological innovation and energy efficiency in tissue production.
During the exhibition, Kadant launched the new Yankee Safe™ program consisting of product and services developed to protect the Yankee throughout its life cycle. One new product line included in the Yankee Safe program is CeraEdge™ creping blades. CeraEdge creping blades have a unique ceramic tip making for a higher quality and more efficient production process.
The Conformatic AL™ blade holder was also presented as part of the Yankee Safe program. The Conformatic AL blade holder is the next generation in the Conformatic family of products. Significant upgrades to the holder’s adjustability was achieved with a proprietary adjustment mechanism allowing for precise control of the holder profile without the need for edge fingers.
The Yankee Safe program includes service such as blade wear measurement and vibration monitoring. Kadant has designed a new tool called the Blade View™ measurement device that digitally analyzes blade wear. Kadant Regional Area Managers are trained to provide this service.
Overall, for tissue makers and Kadant, it was a great event. We hope to see you at Tissue World 2018 to be held March 21-23 in Miami Beach, Florida.
